    WaterWeld is good and safe. I have not had anything knock it off while it sets.

    I was at Ron's house and saw some Tonga rock in his 180 that he epoxied together. I'm not a big fan of Tonga, but it was impressive. He used another rock to make impressions in the epoxy, and it was difficult to tell where they were joined.

    My experience is similar.

    Also, OP probably is aware, but super glue GEL is a lot better than regular super glue.

    I actually prefer the super glue gel over epoxy too, just bc it's more convenient to work with. Not sure how it compares as far as strength with expoxy though; I've never had an issue with it holding once it sets.
