    Thanks for the help guys. I ended up using a credit card and my vacuum. Do you know if these are like bristle worms (if you have one, you have many)? if so, do you recommend using flatworm exit? Thanks!!!!

    The translucent oval looks almost reminiscent of filamentous algae being blown by a powerhead--but the oval shape doesn't make much sense, and the color is definitely not right.

    I thought that it might be filament algae too. I couldn't find any clear pictures on the net of what it would look like in an aquarium though. The area is towards the bottom of the aquarium and doesn't get any direct from from a powerhead. I wish that I had put tape on it this morning before I left to see how much it had spread. If it were algae, something tells me it wouldn't have spread that much so quickly. Thanks!!!

    This isn't the kind that has a large population and requires Flatworm Exit. In fact, this kind is rarely seen in aquaria.
