Had mixed result when I first posted pictures of the guys as juvies. Hoping now that they are a little older it will be easier to tell. Picture is of the female that I have had about 5 months

Thanks, When purchasing I was actually looking for Occies but could only find these guys labeled as Percs. Still makes me angry that I questioned the store as to the true ID, the same store who sold me ricordea yumas that are actually floridas.

Ive had them about 5 months bought them as little guys. Like stated I was lookign for Occies anyhow and am happy with the fish, just fustrated the store mislabels things and when questions about it denies it to no end instead of looking into it. I used to go to this one store because the staff ios pretty knowledgable but have since switched to another lfs run by the head of the local marine club for livestock purchases.

Not always true, Percs have a orange ring around the eye. Occy's have a black eye.

In all honesty it is imposible to tell an Occy from a Percula clown simply by coloration.Even counting the spines can not guarantee a positive I.D.. Scientists now believe that there are actually three different species not two.;)
