I agree. Look into the proflex modular sumps. Great for a refugium.

Protein skimmer - Biocube Protein Skimmer (for 30 gallon tanks) $49.99 No experience with these skimmers, I don't run one currently

Power head - Koralia evolution (1050gph, magnet with vibration reduction) (I'm going to buy one) $58.99 Look at getting Koralia Nano 425 x2 nice and small, I love mine

Heater - Elite Submersive (rated for 10-20 gallons) $38.99 Eheim Jager TruTemp gets great reviews

Lighting hood - Solormax HE. High efficiency T5 lighting system. 30" long. T5 HE 14w - $35.99 T5HO's for sure

Glass lid - 30" long - $30 Skip the lid, as mentioned it may cause problems

    Light - Deep Blue Solormax T5. 14w 10KK Daylight - $14 Bulbs to go with the T5HO

Sand - 20lbs of live sand - $30 Buy 30lbs dry just in case you want more

Live rock - I'm not sure how much I'm getting yet. 5lbs LR and get the rest in base/dry rock

Take your time and it will all come together.

Definitey get two a two bulb fixture. For bulbs I am a fan of Giesseman - get one actinic blue and one 10k daylight - it will give you a nice crisp blueish white light.

Ok guys, so I just got my first few supplies. I bought the Solormax High Output Double T5 Lighting System. It comes with the one 10k daylight bulb and one actinic-03 bulb. It also has 4 LED moonlights that will look awesome at night. Along with that I picked up two Koralia nano power heads. They are both rated for 425 gph. I think I will put one on each end to get a good circular water flow going. How does this sound as a start?
