i have a 34 gallon red sea max and it has been running for 3 years now. I have 2 percs, yellow watchman goby, scooter blenny and a flame hawk. i have a bunch of snails and hermits as well. i have an arrow crab, a cleaner shrimp, a tuxedo urchin and a pistol shrimp. (also a bunch of corals)
I want to add, 2 emerald crabs, a pom pom crab, a porcelain crab, an anemone crab and 2 more urchins. do you think this would make me overstocked. At the current time everything seems healthy and I think this would make my aquarium a lot more interesting.
    thank you.

A 34 is a bit too small for all the crabs that you want to put in there. I would say that if you took the arrow crab out you could add everything else that you want to add. Arrow crabs get rather large and in my opinion could easily take over a 34 gallon tank. Other than that I would not think you are overstocked!

Maybe she would understand. anyways thanks a lot. Also checked out your site, really impressive. I'll keep that in mind next time i wanna order corals. Were you at Greater Iowa Reef Soceitys Fall Frag Fest in Cedar Rapids last fall?

Hopefully she will understand! Thanks for the compliment! We were not at the Fall Frag Fest however, we hope to make it out to one sometime soon!

Vital: no the flamehawk seems pretty chill and hes really fun to watch. he seems to actually be thinking when he watches me. i did however find my arrow crab dining on my scarlet red leg hermit crab the other day. not sure who killed it but that was a pretty expensive crableg dinner for him, i hope i get something in return. :)

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
What type of urchins were you thinking of getting? I only ask because it seems like a tank that size might have issues with providing enough algae and or coralline algae for them to eat.

Once the arrow crab gets huge, which it will your GF may change her mind. Mine always turned into bullies once they got large, always stealing food from my lps. :-(

My tank is only 10 gallons bigger than yours and I have a very large invert population; Most of which have been in for a year.

    stocking list: 2 false percs
    coral beauty angel
    orange spot goby
    1 pistol shrimp
    1 cleaner shrimp
    2 peppermint shrimp
    1 tuxido urchin
    1 red thorny star
    1 emerald crab
    10 blue leg hermits
    5 red leg hermits
    2 scarlett reef hermits
    7 nassarius snails
    15 tiger croucia snails
    5 cerith snails
    2 cocoa worms
    1 feather duster

I too want to add a emerald crab, and a acro crab. I have not found any signs of my biload exceeding my filtration capacity based on monthly tests. The only issue with the arrow would be the size it reaches.

your interest and taste in nverts seems alot like mine. Of all my inverts, the red thorny stands out the most, you can get em fairly small, and they look nice. just a suggestion for even more diversity.

Coralline: i already have a blue tuxedo urchin which i really like. i would like to get another one and also a pink pin cushion urchin. theres plenty of GHA and coralline for them to eat, i've been battling with GHA for awhile now. i'm hoping the urchins will keep it in check. and honestly i would just like to have a bunch of inverts. thanks.

banthony: sounds like you have an awesome invert population. also i'm jealous of the coral beauty. i've been told my tank just isn't big enough for one. but it makes me feel better to know somebody else is doing it with no issues. thanks alot.
