I wouldnt add anything your not testing for. Testing for the vital elements will tell you if your overdosed or not.

were are just giving you guesses based on are expierences and what we have read. to really now if your over dosing you must test.
theres is quite a bunch of reefers out there that don't believe in dosing, just quality salt mix and frequent water changes.

personally i don't dose but i have in the past. for trace element i would just do water changes, and i would only dose the macro elements like cal mag, strontium, etc. the macro's you can find seperately.

The way I see about dosing is as follows, and is my opinion,
The only time to dose is when your tank is over stocked and the WC are not enough. In other words, the corals are consuming alot in between the WC. OR you dont do regular WC and need to keep the elements up. I myself dose extra Mag, Cal and Dkh b/c Im not doing reg. WC as I used to and I have alot of corals. If you only have fish, WC are enough, even if you had some corals. Luna

    Amen!

Never just go off a bottle and start adding chemicals to a tank. You should test and then if you need the elements then add, if not then leave it alone. This is most of the problem people have before they crash their tank. I never add anything unless I test and know I need it. Once you have let the tank run a while you will learn how it runs because no two tanks are the same.

The only things I put in my tank without testing for is Essential Elements, & Strontium every two weeks because I don't do water changes.
