    Equipment~
    29 gallan glass
3 gallon CPR hang on back refugium w/protein skimmer
    standard hang on back filter
AA aquarium 9v inline UV sterilizer (in refugium)
    heater (in refugium)
17w light (better one in the mail)
    35 gallon rated power head
    thermometer

    live stock~
2x 20lb bags of live sand
    11lbs live rock (more soon)
    yellow tang
    2 blue green chromis
    cleaner shrimp
    sally light foot crab
serpant star - just killed a red scooter blenny :-(
    star polyp
    pompom xenia

I also like to note that i saw some people posting comments on whether or not the CPR hob refugium w/protein skimmer was good or not.
the build quality could be a little bit better but other than that it seems to be worth the 200$. with only a 29 gallon tank i didn't feel that a whole sump/fuge located under the tank was not really needed so that's why i went with the HOB unit and i am pleased it seems to be doing its job well.

I have a couple questions that any input would be appreciated.

1~ i am planning on adding more live rock soon. if i go straight from the store with it and put it right away will there be any problems like any spikes in the water?

2~ this is an ID question. its on the same frag disk as the pom pom xenia. its got an almost a pink/red body with red polyps. any help would be great.
you can click the pic a couple of times to make it bigger

#1 if it is CURED lr you wont have much in the way of cycling issues, if uncured then you may go through a mini cycle or prolong the one you already have started.

#2 cant tell from the pick.

couple of questions. is that bryopsis in the fuge? and is that a scooter blenny? if so it doesnt stand a chance in ur tank. IME they only eat live food. the tangs gotta go also. slow down a bit my friend. what are ur params?

the scooter blenny lived for 4 weeks before the serpant star killed it. why do you say the tang needs to go? if its because of how big he gets later on ill just upgrade in size.
    and no its not bryopsis

    hi Amatta1989

I magnified the image but still cant see the other coral well enough to ID it to be honest

the algae in your fuge is a Calerpa species

The Tang , one of the biggest problems with these species is their need for plenty of swimming space, many tangs that looked OK in that respect (as yours does, there does look like plenty of room in the tank for it) we cannot asses the phycological effects that this is having on the fish

fish dont know that when we feel they are to big, they will get a bigger tank or be moved to a bigger tank , so the fish who is aware of the size constraints of its enviroment is likely to experience stress related to this and be more prone to parasitic attacks etc

the sad truth is that many many Tangs have died in small tanks even in the small tanks of concientious aquarists like yourself, who have decent intentions to move it when they feel it has outgrown the tank its in

my opinion - save yourself heart ache in the future by either removing the Tang or upgrading now?
