Well Kogle (Kris) and myself decided that today would be a great day to go to Premium Aquatics (45 min drive from home to Indianapolis). As we were leaving Columbus we were amazed by the flooding from recent storms (some tornados also). It was pouring down rain, and at one point we were doing 10 mph on the interstate, seen it before no biggie. He bought all dry goods and I bought 12 nassarius snails, 5 margaritas, 1 emerald crab, 1 cleaner shrimp and 1 blue hippo. Well on the way back home we got stopped in standstill traffic on the interstate and went through the median to turn around and find a better way. Come to find out that all roads heading south were completely flooded. Highways, Interstates, CR ANYTHING was closed. Have never, NEVER heard of the interstates closing for water (my dad backed me up on that and he has lived here 50 years). We went through Franklin, Indiana and it is a complete disaster area, saw many homes and businesses in 10+ feet of water, and these are located next to CREEKS, not rivers! I can't even put into words what we saw today, a lot of people's lives were ruined around here today. So it ended up taking 6 hours instead of 2 and my livestock is acclimating now. Hopefully everthing will be ok, blue hippo suddenly is showing signs of ick, I'll post that in another thread. Just thought I'd post about the amazing things we saw today, this was more than a 100 year flood. More info if curious.

if the tang has ick its def from being in the bag to long. happend to my yellow. i removed him treated him and traded him back for a six-line. is it white or black ick. I would use fresh garlic and keep him well fed and they fight it off on there own. I know there is alot of skeptics on garlic but i used it every day for a week, then like 2 times week continuously and i have not seen any ick return.i used this on my display tank because the tang had infected a neon goby that was in the main tank, he was covered in it gills and everything. after 4 days or so of starting garlic it was completly gone and has not returned.
(i did not trade the tang for the ick reason as he cleared up and was healthier than when i got him, traded him do to aggression issues, yellows are supposed to be one of the worst in cases of ick and aggression, i think that hippos are the better choice in tang family,)

    good luck and sweet fish,

im not sure if it was because of it being in the bag to long. Its may have been but i live about 30-45 mins from home and my hipoo got it too. They are just ich magnets....i agree on the garlic soaked food tho. He is fighting it off, my last hippo did the same...seems like thats just the way they are.

Well cant talk long I have to help a friend move stuff out of his house, water got up 3-4 foot in his house and he doesn't even live in a flood zone, no flood insurance. The entire town of columbus was an island for about 10 hours. My power went out for 12 hours, no way to get to the generator I have for my backup. They are saying this was a 500 year flood... Everything in the tank seems to have survived except for the hippo... can't find him anywhere but he may show up. After seeing the disaster in town this morning I don't even really care... so many people'e lives were ruined last night my fish pales in comparison... rest of the tank looks normal though. I'll try and be back on tonight.

Well folks I helped my friend pack up what belongings he had left into a storage unit and carried the rest to the curb for the city to come pick up. Not much left... the county has had a disaster declaration declared. Me, Kogle and Otty are high and dry luckily, many are not. Kogle and myself helped tear down his tank (water was up to the bottom of the display). Water was in his under tank filter, but everything somehow survived... I took in his sixline and Ogle took in his blue damsels and a couple corals to his QT then we took the rest of the rock and laid it out in the yard. Sixline is doing good, hippo isn't as white as it was but he did get sucked to my MJ mod. I turned it off and will leave it off till he is healthy, I have 2 smaller powerheads in there now. The hippo did eat this evening though, I regularly feed garlic and he tore that crap up;D!
Please keep those less fortunate from my area in your thoughts and prayers!

Glad to hear the 6 line and hippo are doing ok. I'm still in a state of shock over what I've seen this past weekend. Didn't get to bed until midnight and I'm beat. Jimmy and Kristina are staying at our house for now. Everything that got tossed into the QT tank seems to be doing fine.
