I was snooping around on the zeovit forums and also a few other sources/articles from the web and from very knowledgeable reefers.

Its just that you can manipulate the colors of the corals because you starve them that badly... and by introducing different molecules you can dictate the metabolic processes down to only consuming this one specific molecule, which in turn varies the colors of your corals.

It gets down to the point where you would add only a drop or two a week of these supplements to control the colors. no coral food or anything.
Also, the corals are so weak that even the most minor of changes (small drop in dkh or salinity) can be devastating to coral health

I'm planning to probably to my chalk bass. Dingo's tang close up is better. although I do like the idea of people thinking dingo is having a mental breakdown.

k+ that summarized it pretty good. now it makes sense why there are an even bigger crowd against it.

You stated that you were gonna stick to your vodka (carbon) dosing. how do you feel about ecobak by warner marine?
Or do you prefer the straight vodka way

I have never tried ecobak so i cant speak about it from experience. I assume it works because everyone says it does...
Personally, I wouldnt use it because you cannot control your bacteria population with it. I can look at my tank every single day and say "oh, this coral looks like this and this one looks like this so i should increase/decrease my dosage for a few days". If i have a detectable phosphate ever, then i will increase dosage to get it out, if i want to polish off my water i will increase dosage slightly, if i overfeed i will increase dosage slightly, if I want to increase bacterial populations I will overdose to just below the level of a bacterial breakout. (this overhauls the skimmer and cleans the water better than anyone has ever seen before from the higher ORP! as well as gives tons of bac to feed the corals)

It seems to me that whenever I add supplements like the ones in question that my protein skimmer actually does it's job and removes them from the water. How effective can this stuff be in a system that uses equipment to remove them? After all, amino acids are the building blocks of proteins and they to are constantly removed from the water by a protein skimmer. I'm not trying to ruffle anybody's feathers but it seems to me that when I use this stuff I'm just flushing my money down the toilet by means of my protein skimmer.

I do turn the skimmer off. Your corals arent going to use it up in an hour. Just saying that I havnt seen any noticeable benefits. I use coralamino.
