    That's actually not a bad idea.

    You can always "nuke" the rock and use it in the future - depending on the quality of the rock. If it's good and porous - then I'd say worth getting for free and nuking it.

    I would not put that in my DT until it was nuked.


    A PH in a rubbermaid is not going to kill the algae - if anything it will nurture it.

    Base rock sounds like a better application for you.

    There are many different ways.

    Pick your poison.

    Do a search on this forum for "nuking live rock" and you will get all the info you need.
