hei guys! i got a 55 gallon ...running for 2 months and 2 weeks... with fishes and few corals... and i recently added a little cured LR... bout 6lbs... i put it straight to the main tank... nxt day ammonia went up to .5 ppm... and 3 days later its zero and so as the nitrites.. so i did a 10% water changes to lower the "nitrates" a bit...(coz from what i understand the end result is nitrates)...and then 2 days after ammonia went up to .25 ppm nitrite zero, nitrates 10 ppm... is this normal???
it didnt seem to bother the fishes... but corals are a bit sad lookin...any ideas???
    cheers

My first thought is that middle test was in error for some reason. Sounds like you just have some die off and your bacteria population is working on bringing it down. You may want to dose with Prime to help out your livestock. I would do this daily while you have ammonia registering.
