Ammonia Rise in friends tank

what should i tell him to do. It is at 1.0ppm.

 

is it a new tank or is it cycled. he has to find out why hes seeing ammonia. is he doing water changes? did something die? could be 100 reasons

 

how big is the tank? is it cycled? is he doing water changes? If the tank is cycled and he has fish and stuff in it, I would tell him to find whatever is dead, and remove it, then do a water change and before they add the RO/DI water you can add some stuff called Prime to it...mix it well..it should remove the ammonia...but find the source first

to reduce ammonia you need to do a water changes. you could use prime for temporal results meanwhile you do the water changes.

 

Ammo-carb works wonders for bringing it down fast in freshwater tanks.

 

If tank is new and cycling don't add anything,just let it cycle.If fish thet may not survive have already been added remove them if possible.That's the best you can do,additives or water changes will only postpone what is eventually going to happen.l
