Amonia probelem.

    Just the baged live sand and a chunck of brine shrimp and left it in there. Also some
    Biosperia

    The live sand doesn't really affect the situation unless it was from someone else's tank.

    Was the dry rock smelly at all once it was soaked? Where did you get it from? Where did you get the LS from?

    The brineshrimp is your source of ammonia. The bio spira in your source for bacteria. I don't know much about that particular brand. The sand may be a source for your bacteria as well.... but depending on where it's from and what was done to it, it could also be your source of ammonia.

    Did you test your "clean" water? Test it right before you put it in the tank, if not.

    +1 Verify your result with another test kit or have the LFS check it. Also check your new salt water like Renee said it might be the source.
