I accidentally put Amonia Remover instead of Phosphate media in my Fluval filter. It run 2 days before I noticed, only because I lost my 6 line Wrasse and my yellow tang, my female clown is in bad shape but she is still alive. I removed the amonia remover of course, packed the filter full of fresh carbon and changed about 15 percent of the water. Anything else I can do or just let it run it's course?:-/

It seems to me that you have done what you can. Another large water change might help.

Hmm. I don't see how Ammonia remover is the cause of your dead fish. What brand were you using?

it was the probably the pelleted ammonia remover or the pad with the pelleted ammonia removed fused to it. Either way, it does not work on SW tanks and has a negative effect on them.

Do another large water change and hope for the best.

thanks, I was going to do water changes for the next few days, and it was Fluval Ammonia Remover and it says right on the gallon that's it's for freshwater only, I just grabbed the wrong container. I'm positive that's the problem cause I've had no problems and near perfect water parimeters other than darn aiptasia my tank is good.
Thanks for the reply, guess there's no magic cure!
