    How much amonia is crucial level.?And how should I get it down? Its at about 0.25

    That is higher than you want. A 50% water change with well aerated water to remove the ammonia that forms from mixing in the salt will help. The ideal is at or near 0.

    Is your tank cycled? If not, you SHOULD have a NH3 spike, which will dissipate as the tank cycles.

    thanks I used some ammonia remover pellets in a sock- worked out pretty good
