Amphipods annoying zoa's??

    Why is that? Are they agrresive? I know longer have the lawnmower blenny. So its just the 2 clowns and 1 chromis

    I had an amphipod explosion on my current tank which devoured healthy colonies when the tank was about 4 months old. They even devoured chaeto when it was added to the sump. These were not dying colonies in any way; they disappeared polyp by polyp overnight.

    There are so many different species of amphipods, it would be very difficult to determine what the diet of every species consists of.

    Agree on the detritus comment.

    Okay so if we avoid getting a 6 line, do we have any other options? This was a huge colony of zoas and they are now completely closed up and I would be upset if they die. All i can do is increase flow?

    For wrasses, no. I can't think of any other options either. Check out the link above, you may have missed it in my ninja edit. I don't mean to scare you away from the genus; just know what you're getting into. :p It might be a good option for you.

    Last night I ended up getting an ORA Target Mandrian Goby, it is actively taking prepared foods and has already chowed down on some of these annoying pods. Such a relief =]
