I love Potters. They are absolutely gorgeous!! Where do you find them? I have never seen one at my LFS and they aren't on LiveAquaria...

Many people have dwarf angels in reef set ups with zero issues
I have been very unlucky myself , with on different occasions and different tanks
    2 x Coral beauties, 1 x flame, 1 x Rusty and most recently 1 x Flame back angel
all showing varying degrees of coral nipping

I added the flame back into my 75 when it was FOWLR and it was added at about 4 months after tank was set up - still with me today, but in the 60 next door FOWLR

You pays your money and you takes your chances with Dwarf Angels IMO

My lfs has them all the time,it is a pretty large store and they do stock some of the more unusual fish.Maybe when your ready for one you could ask your lfs to order in a couple of them.Their coloring seems to vary some, mine is darker with more purple while I've seen others that are very orange.I have read somewhere that they require very good water quality and are considered fragile so maybe thats why you don't see them for sale online much.Or,it could be that they're availible in smaller numbers and are sold to lfs for that reason.

Okay thanks! I'll do some research on them...I'm not sure if I want fragile...but they are so pretty!

I've thought about special ordering a fish before, but I wasn't sure if they usually do that, or if it's super expensive, etc. I'll ask my guy next time I go in.

guess i will throw my experience so far with dwarfs. i added a coral beauty roughly 3 months after cycle end. 2 months later i added a flame angel. took a day for the 2 dwarfs to play nicely together , but all has been fine. theyre colorful and healthy. i do give them some frozen angel food with sponges in it. also ive never had a problem with them coral nipping or clam mantle tasting. but as weve seen, all fish are different. best of luck.

Thanks for the encouraging words! I am definitely going to try an angel. Gotta have one. :) I'm glad your two get along well!

It depends on the angel. Harder ones such as a flame tend to be right from 2-3 weeks after cycle. But others, Bi-colour for instance (Which i can't get to live more than a month if my life depended on it :|) should go in a more established tank.

Oh and you'll throw test/cheap coral in and they won't touch it. But put something more expensive and it'll be eaten in a day :).
