The SPS dominant has been an enjoyable experience for me
but I do occasionally find myself missing the finger leathers and toadstool corals from the set up
also the inability to keep some of the more fleshy species of LPS corals such as bubbles, hammers etc in the flow dominated 5ft

so this set up will focus on the above species
I am aiming to stock with a variety of leather finger corals which will be the theme of my set up
and the LPS corals for the sand bed and lower rock tiers

I have gone for mimimal rock scape in this set up to maximise space for larger leather corals
and have avoided the rock wall on this occasion and gone for a 2 connected island theme
set up at the weekend - with uncured live rock and unrinsed sand
its still very much in the cloudy water stage
but as I will be running at least 8 weeks without lights or any higher life forms, the cloudiness will not bother me

Lights on for duration of image capture only

flow at present around 15 x tank volume , a second wavemaker will be added after this weekends trip to the LFS

And now! At last! Another tank completely different from some of the other tanks which are not quite the same as this one.

LPS tank says he is not quite dead yet. At least not completely.

Awesome Steve! Is it your birthday or something?

Also, is that by chance the same brand and size tank that you are using for your SPS Dominated system? It looks so familiar for some reason . . .

I really like the shelf rock, definitely leaves alot of room for coral placement. Alot of substrate area too if you were to go for some plates, button's or scoly's.
