I probably got to it before 1/2 cup of saltwater had dripped out
it was pretty rapid - lets just say I would not want to drip Alk at that rate anyway

this is the 2nd time I have experienced a leak of this nature
must be dozens of tanks by now

1st time was not so lucky, it had dripped a while and probably a couple of gallons had reached the carpet before I got home and heard the wavemaker pushing out a mix of air and water and saw the level was lower than evaporation would account for

 

Oh Steve not off to the greatest start but I'm sure it will come alone

well as the source of this rock was the same source as the rock thats full of green and red in my 4 x 13 gallon set ups
I did intend to do a 8- 12 week dark period cycle
so its not really presented any issue for me really
other than the inconvienience of having to do the same thing twice

 

Ahhh the dreaded, drip, drip sound that makes your heart sink, because you know down deep all that it entails. Removing water, re-homing rocks.....

At least you caught it before stocking and completed cycle.

On another note, did they not cancel Castles?

as you say, timing in this instance was perfect really
even with a couple of corals present, it would have been a lot more concerning for me

Yes sorry to be the barrier of bad news. The announcement of it's cancellation caught my eye, because I was new to it and just started to enjoy it.

 

so no season 4?
Ill have to make the most of the rest of Season 3 then

hopefully Boston Legal will come back on to replace it
as thats another show I enjoy

 

As to avoid the "Spoiler alert", I will refrain from Castle discussion, because I fail at keeping secrets.

They also canceled two other shows I enjoy, The Defenders (James Belushi), and $*%^& my Dad Says (William Shatner). I will not be pressured into watching Jersey Shores no matter how many of my favorite show they cancel, will not!!!!!!

Sorry for the hi-jack and the bad news. More time for tanks I guess. :-(
