    Hello all,

I have refrained from showing pictures of my tank until i learn how to do halfway decent macro shots etc.

However, my long awaited lighting finally arrived and I just wanted to post a couple of fast shots on the forums to give you an idea of what my tank looks like.

My dad and nephew spent all day yesterday installing the light shelf exactly the way i envisioned it. They are truly my heroes. Dad even admitted to how awesome he thought it looked when we finally finished up.

I will be posting a more detailed photo-documentary and explanation of what we did on the DIY forums once i get the photos organized etc. I know there are others on here who are getting Teklights or other types of suspended light fixtures but cannot suspend them from the ceiling. Hopefully they can glean from my experience and come up with a good solution.

In the meantime, here are a few pics. i promise to get the focus settings etc tweaked better. It has just been so busy lately.

At least you know i really do have a tank!

Thanks for taking a peek. :)

Very nice tank, :( Gosh that size though of your tank, makes me feel like I could drive a boat in mine! :( I like how you have your rock work set up.

Is this the tank that will house your new winnings?

Its a 29g however plans are in the making for a bigger one to be placed in that exact spot. :) i just wanted to plan for the location and light fixture setup for now.

and yes, the new goodies will live in there with the gang of assorted fish and critters.

As i said, once i tackle the stupid focusing issues, i will do this properly so that you all dont have to squint, tilt your head, don your 3D glasses etc :)

the rock was done two nights in a row last week thanks to a stupid creepy worm that i was losing sleep over. I think i posted about that adventure in the inverts forums.

great job on the light unit , looks really good IMO

Need some close ups of the tanks occupants , that would be cool
plenty of rock work in there
looks like an AC remora skimmer and a couple of decent sized wave makers?

all in all, a very well thought out set up IMHO

Thank you all for the kind words....i will most definitely get closer shots. I look forward to introducing you to the "gang". :) I just havent mastered the macro settings on my camera. Considering that I use it for work and its been dropped a time or two on jobsite visits, I may have to buck up and buy a new one.

I know the pics i just posted dont look all that great in quality either but I have felt a bit like a lurker (and was likely facing some kind of upcoming house arrest or citation from the pic police) so i figured I had best put something up and then go from there.

I am very proud of the shelf....as is my father. It is top notch work and really did not cost all that much for such a finished piece of work. Considering what one pays for lighting, no way did i want to do anything that didnt do justice to the simple clean look of the light fixture.

I will sort through my photos i took of the shelf and light project and will post some on DIY. Then i must practice on the macros - especially since I am expecting deliveries from both Reef Empire and Coralmorph tomorrow.
(which in all honesty is my personal "christmas" to myself.)

I have had several simple dreams since i was a kid. one was to pick a real seashell up off the beach which i did in 2003. Another is to pick an orange off a tree....i dont mind if you Floridians laugh - all i have up here is APPLES. (that one hasnt been done yet)...but yet another was to have a saltwater tank with CORAL in it. That is coming true :)

    stay tuned and thanks again.

And I totally relate to your orange dream, lol every time I would go to CA when I was younger I had to pick citrus fruit!! There's just something about it...haha
