anemome for my false percs

What is the best choice for hosting anemones for percs?

 

If your tank is established enough, id say a BTA

 

Sebae Anemone or Haddon's Carpet anemone. Both are very, very difficult to care for and get quite large. Most people recommend not getting an anemone till the tank is 1 yr old

 

That is not the natural host

Tank has been running since 2006. Just traded my sebae and sebae nem for some rock, zoos, and two false percs.

 

I would rather go with an anemone that does well in my tank and has a greater chance of success.

BTAs may not be a natural host, but captive breed clownfish are just as likely to take to one as they are any anemone.

Kept one pair of clowns with a large carpet and then moved them to a tank with BTA and they just as readily accepted it.

BTA tend to tolerate swings in water parameters and quality better, they clone, and remain very colorful. You have to pay a lot of money to find a carpet as colorful. Sebae tend to remain cream to tan in coloration.

With that said, I really to like the look of clownfish residing in a carpet.
