So, just curious can anyone ID these? I dont think the anemone is aiptasia but it is dark brown and very stubby (and small!). The nudi/sea hare is tiny, fast as heck (for a slug) and is green with a squiggly white ridge down its back. Oh, and Ive noticed that there are a lot of the nudis. It looks like Im having trouble with the second anemone pic so I will post it separately in a 'response' post.

Here is the 2nd anemone pic. It was just too big to upload.

I have a hard time calling it an Aptasia, but I also have a hard time trusting it. I haven't a clue what the nudi/seaslug is.

    Hi Isurus,

I can't ID your anemone, but the sea slug is an Elysia species. It's an algae-eating sacoglossan, and should be fine in your tank. I did a quick run through the Elysia species on the Sea Slug Forum, and the one that looks most like it (of the ones I checked) was Elysia hirasei. I don't think that species has been reported from Hawaii, but that doesn't mean it doesn't live there of course. Check this link and see if you agree:

The Sea Slug Forum - Elysia hirasei

If it looks different, you might want to check through the Elysia species and see if you see a better match. Just scroll down to where the Elysias start:

The Sea Slug Forum - Species List

    Cheers,

    Don

Thanks for the links and thanks for the leads! I think that I could have an Elysia (or five) on my hands. Now I gotta figure out what I can do about the small mantis shrimp I found yesterday while taking pics of the slugs!
