so my anemone thought it was a good idea to cuddle up with the heater in my tank yesterday and now part of its foot is pretty mutilated/cooked looking and there is a little of it stuck on the heater...(the heater isn't set wicked high or anything).
should i be worried about the anemone? will it cope and get back to normal shortly, it is currently kinda hiding in the back of the tank and is about half its normal size or less. i don't want it to die and bomb out my tank.

The temperature setting on the heater doesn't matter, it gets to the same temperature, just when its set for lower temps, it doesn't stay on for as long. I'm not too familiar with anemones, I would just watch it real carefully.

right, yeah it must have thought it was a cool spot and then wasn't able to get off as quickly as the heater heated up during the night.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Turn off or unplug the heater if you have not already done so. Unless you live in antartica your tank will probably be fine until the anemone moves.

oh no! the anemone is well away from the heater now, i don't know how long it was next to it over night but it has moved about 10" away at least now.

Watch him closely. I know people that have had that happen and it recovered but i hate taking risks like that

it has been a little reclusive, but it looks like it is recovering fully.
