thats a really bad coral to have die in your tank just watch it its going to find a place it likes no matter where you putit and they can get realy large and have powerfull sting and will kill other corals just keep an eye on him not worth it for a 11 dollar coral imo j/w tho why did u get a pink tip?

As you should be some what worried.

What type of lighting do you have ?

If you can provide a picture of your new anemone that would be great.

Depending on the type of power heads you can put a cover on them until the anemone picks a spot. But it my wander for awhile.

+1 on Corailine's question, what type of lighting do you have?

Nems are happiest in established tanks that are at least 6 months old with steady params. It can and will sting your corals to death if it comes in contact with them.

I currently have 3 BTA's in my tank and have my powerheads screened off with gutterguard and zipties. A nem will only wander if it's unhappy, so if your lighting is good enough, params are steady, & flow is good, it should find & foot pretty easily. If not, it will be a headache, you may try to feed it some raw shrimp when it foots where you want it.

You may also want to try a GBTA or RBTA, as I feel Bubble-tipped nems are very hardy ones & the easiest of nems to keep successfully.

i have 4x 54w t5 ho ati bulbs and a kz bulb so i am not concerned about the lighting. the powerheads are koralias but i am not going to modify anything in my tank just for this anemone which i got for free. right now it is where a rock hits the sand and it has seemed to anchor itself there. fingers crossed it stays there because it has enough room right there where it is not touching any coral. i really do like it and want it to stay but if it starts wandering it will have to go :(

putting gutterguard on the koralias is extremely easy and cheap to do, I would def take the pre-caution. It honestly won't foolproof it getting stuck, but it will help. Wouldn't be worth getting something free that crashes your tank if it got stuck and died in your Koralia when you weren't home.

concerning the lights, that is a decent amount, I recently went from 4 to 5 bulbs and did notice my nems where happier with the added light. 6-bulbs would be perfect IMO, 4-bulbs works but it all depends on how close they are to the light. You'll find they will climb & foot as close to the light as they can, which is where you'll have issues of them wandering.

Might be wise, anemones are not for everyone, they def require planning & stable params/good equipment. My LFS gives them away for free because they can be such a headache too.

Be very careful getting it out, you don't want to tear the foot and foul the water.

My posts aren't meant to freak you out or anything, people do keep nems succesfully all the time, but you know how much time & $ goes into our tanks and hobby, it's best to know all the worst case scenarios.

    Wise choice.

As MoJoe mentions covering the koralias is super easy and it does not require a modification.

Anemones are best placed in a system prior to the placement of corals. Condi's are the worst at wandering IME. While very cool, the overall investment in the tank is not worth it.
