anemone floating???

    i have a long tentacle anemone and it is floating.anyone know why this is?

    some same they are looking for a new home and it'll reattach. I've found that when one detaches and rolls around, it's gonna die. I would take it out before it does and turns to stinky gooey mush.

    How long have you had it in the tank ? how old is the tank and what type lighting do you light up the tank with ?Could be a few reasons it is floating around.

    i just purchased it today got it all acclimated to the tank,the tank a 120 and it is 14months old. lighting is 2 250w mh 4 54w t5's.it got sucked up my oveflow a little while ago that was fun to get out...now its kinda in between a couple of rocks

    did they have to pry it off something to get it into the bag?

    no it was burried in the sand took no effort for them to get it out

    Make sure you turn off your powerheads so it doesn't get shredded.
    Does its foot look damaged?
    You can try placing it against a rock and holding it there to see if it will attach.

    Just read a little. Looks like LTA's prefer a sand substrate so they can bury in it so scratch my attach to rock comment above.

    Have you tried build up some sand around it to kind of hold it in place?
