Hello, guys I just recently got a green carpet anemone for my tank. I didn't pay to close attention and forgot one of my power heads didn't have a cover on the suction part and well ya you figured it. The carpet anemone got sucked up in it. I turned the pump off and got him out. However, now its very very upset. Please help me with any advise you can give. Thanks

Get some fresh carbon ready and keep a very close eye on it. The ol' anemone on the powerhead? Very common cause of anemone death leading to system crashes.
EDIT: Also, wondering about more info on the anemone. Tank settings, how long have you had it, lighting etc......

Those pics really don't help. Lighting, how long has it been in the tank, water parameters etc. will determine survivability. There is a reason it was moving in the first place. It happens to be one of the hardest anemones to keep.

Well, Im ready to take some criticism on this but it was an impulse buy for now. It is currently in a 24gallon nano. Its still very small. The tank has two mj1200's on it. I have a refugium on the back, full cleaner crew now... , and 150watt hqi pheonix 14k on it. I do water changes every week or two.

Just so you guys do know. This isn't where its home was planed. I have a 125gallon fish tank up and cycling currently. Its only been going for about a week now.

The sooner you take it out, the better your tank will be. That thing will QUICKLY devistate your tank. I'd call your lfs and explain your situation. Ask them if they are interested in trying to save it(for free). Consider it a small loss and a lesson. You aren't the first to make an impulse buy;););););). Impulse buys can cost you more money than it's worth. In this case an entire tanks worth.

My long tentacle was sucked up into my power head the other day.. more or less just ripped off a few tentacles but it's happy as can be now....

I think my clowns made it happy so it wanted to live.

But your carpet looks like it's puking it's insides out.. that's the #1 way to know it's about to die.

    good luck

WOW! Ph 7.8. And if I were to have a g carpet anem, I'd wont 0's on nitrate/phosphate. What's your alkalinity?

+1. Your nitrate, PH, and PO4 are all enough to kill a gca on their own. I would get it out of there ASAP. If that thing dies in your nano, so will EVERYTHING else. And I do mean everything.
