My GBTA has been shrinking up lately for the past couple days....no brown stuff is coming or anything....mouth is closed..ITs just Very Small....So my params are fine...just like they always been..But my salinity is changing every know and then becuase of me being lazy and not wanting to get water.

It will be at 1.025 and before i toppoff its usualy at 1.026 or 7.....then i toppoff and it goes back to 25....Could this be the reason why its shrinking?

Does it shrink and then come back up? If so I believe thats its pretty normal behavior for a nem...mine does it almost everyday...i think its getting rid of waste when it does it. I wouldnt worry too much unless it losses its foothold

If its shrinking for only a short period, like an hour or two, every other day, then it's no problem. It's when it stays shrunken that it's serious.

How old is your tank and what kind of lights do you have?

My tank is 7 months old, but its been set up for 2 years, so its mature.....

    Nitrate 5
    Nitrite 0
    PH 8.2
    Ammonia 0
    salinity 1.025
    Phosphates ?
    Calcium 420

So my params are good...and they stay like that most of the time..

    I have a t5HO 4 buls fixture

    3 actinic and 1 10k

Nitrates are high for a nem. Phosphates may be an issue as well. MAybe lighting is a factor, as 1 10k bulb isn't all that much PAR.

I agree with this too. I had to switch out my T5 with my MH for the nem and clam to get enough useable light. After that, my nem has grown in size tenfold. It started about the size of a silver half dollar and is now 8-9" in diameter.

I think t5 are enough for most nems. But I do think only 1 daylight isn't enough, you don't get a lot of par out of antics.
