anemone ID

    MY friend gave me this anemone he had in a ten gallon and was going to throw it away :-Xand I went and got it now i need to make sure what kind is it and any information on it( I think it's a rock one),I have the right conditions for an anemone just need to make sure 100% what I can provide for it to be healthy right now i have it in the sand not sure if it rather be on rock though.

    It kind of looks like a flower anemone, but Im not 100% sure. Luna

    Are those individual heads on it? It almost looks like a Duncan.

    If it IS an anem I would say that Luna is right, and it should move on its own if it does not like where its at (and will probably set up shop next to your <most prized coral> ) ;)

    that's not a duncan because there's no skeleton. I think it is a flower nem

    is that 2 heads I see? are two heads better than one?:hehe: I'm thinking flower anemone, though mine had green in it, but in the waters of Jamaica, I've seen brown... and also the base was never that large. Maybe it's split or still splitting?

    Rock Anemone. Just so you all know, a "Flower Anemone" is a Rock Anemone. But the most common name is Rock Anemone (Epicystis crucifer)

    I am willing to bet it is a Macrodactyla Doreensis! Long tentacle corkscrew anemone!

    lol I dont wanna take your money, cause that is a Rock Anemone. Look at the oral disk. There are no tantacles on the disk, they are around it. Macrodactyla Doreensis has tentacles on the disk similar to Heteractis crispa (Sebae Anemone).
