so i opened up my fx5 to remove the polishing pads since they were more trouble than worth and found a small purple tip anemone. its about 1" across but this is the second one i found. anyone have this happen before? i'm not sure if i wan to put him in the main tank but i'm guessing these are non-photosynthetic? i always thought they needed at least a lil' bit o' light. i found one before that had like a 2" foot on it but he was damaged before i even knew he was there and tossed it.

Sounds like a strawberry anemone that hasn't had any light.

    does it look like this?
may not right now cause of the lack of light, give it a few days to regain it's color

nope. he looks exactly like a purple tip but the green color in the tentacle shaft. until i saw the green in the light i would've sworn it was a purple tip. i had a purple tip long time ago but it vanished. it was at least 9 months ago.

We're new around here but we have a reoccurring problem. Our green anemone, about 5 inches, keeps getting sucked up by our power head. This time it happened in the middle of the night and the thing looks really bad ( and our tank is extremely cloudy). Why is it doing this and how can we prevent it?
