From what i have heard, Tank bred clowns have a hard time hosting stuff..But its always worth a shot IMO!! i have two tank bred clowns that are a pair and they have not hosted anything in my tank, not even a rock or coral..Most clowns stick to their area of the tank, mine mostly sleep wherever and swim whereever.

maxi-minis like rock not sand, and do not host clowns. Mini-Carpets: The Perfect Small Sea Anemones? | Coral Magazine

I wouldn't put a nem in a small tank like that unless, you do not want much else. Most nems, other than Stichodactyla will outgrow the tank, or at least gro to take up every inch. I have (actually had, gave it away recently but still take care of it - long story) an LTA, that was about 2.5" when I got it. Within a year it was 16" and has settled at about 18" now 9ish years latter...

Clowns are territorial, they may not host in a specific type of anemone, like the wild caught ones. Hosting in a specific anemone seems to be learned response that is imprinted when young. However, they do seem to host in something IME. My last tank raised ocelaris picked a frogspawn. he died in a heater mishap and I recently got a pair and they also have started hosting a bit in the same frogspawn LOL.

Try to get them outa that frogspawn ASAP, you dont want them hosting frogspawn, torches etc..They will eventually smother it to death.

LOL, the last one was in it for several years no smothering. In fact, I have known many people whose clowns have hosted in a variety of Euphyllia and Sarcophyton, they make excellent hosts;)

IME clowns host anything... Anything they can hang out next to and call their own. I had to rearrange my 29g because my clowns had hosted some sand in the back of my rockwork and I hated not being able to see them. I have seen them host heaters, powerheads, anything really.

Clowns don't host anything. When a clown takes to a nem,it's the nem thats the host :p not the clown. My mag float provides hosting to my clown.;D
