i gotta purple tip sebae. he had been in same spot for months looking great until last few days he's been moving around like crazy sometimes his tentacles would get fatter than normal. this morning he is completely deflated i thought he was already gone, but as i went to retrieve it (before it became a mess) I noticed it still has it's stinging cells, stuck to my hand pretty good and doesn't feel soft and mushy like they do when they're dying. you know they usually turn to a pile of slime. think it's on it's way out? think i should get it out before it gunks up my tank? or think it'll rebound?

Hard to tell... Mine looked funny for a longtime before it finally checked out... I would keep a eye on it for a little while.. Hate to see you get rid of it if you don't have too.. Its just hard to know when its too late...

If he moved, then the conditions have changed for him. Did you change the PH? Have you done something different? Anemones tend to do that, they disinflate at night and blow up during the day. Luna

    How old are your bulbs?
Sebae's are not very hardy and are touch and go!
Best advice is to try and relieve as much stress as possible.

I've had this anemone in my tank about 8 months before that it was in my brother-in-law's tank for about 6 months and always looked good.

all water params have been exactly the same for a while now except calcium keeps going up about 20ppm every month for the last 2 months. was at 420 then 440 now about 460 and i'm not dosing.

i know they inflate and deflate but i've never seen it like this before.
the only things i've done different in the last month are: i've added the corals i saved from my brother's tank (which are doing great), I've added another 130w of PC's (which is a brand new fixture) for new corals and i started putting microvert (filter feeder food) very sparingly, only put 1/2 recommended amount on two different occasions.

Could be the extra lighting you just added. Luna
