There are several of these that have just popped up recently in my tank. Seem to be multiplying now. The bigger ones are about a half inch long. They are mostly clear, but have "white spots" all over. Any idea what they are?

    Aiptasia

The peppermint is peppermint shrimp. Make sure you do not get a camel shrimp.

Has the same shape, but what about the spots. Are there multiple strands of aiptasia?

Personally..I don't think thats aiptasia. or at least the aiptasia we all know and love. I have a few of these in my tank. They stay significantly smaller and clear. The biggest I have seen is around 2mm in my tank. It may be another species..but I haven't seen any problems with them in my tank.

    May be completely wrong though.

you could be right, the part that worries me is the rapid increase in numbers he claimed, hate to see the tank over run needlessly

yeah thats understandable.. I think the eradication would be left to joe's juice or something like it because the same peppermints that took out my aiptasia haven't touched these guys
