Also, what was your Nitrate reading before the "fairly good" water change, and how large was it? Nems are very sensitive to changes, including a rapid drop in nutrients. I know some may disagree, but IMPE, large WCs, if/when necessary, should be done in small increments; you achieve the same goal, but without the shock factor to your more sensitive pets.

as long as it mouth isnt constantly open and the foot has a firm grip on then its alive.

shrinking, bleaching and or moving are signs of stress/acclimation. how long you had her?

I've had her about 2 months. I only did about a 15% water change so I believe the nitrate was similar to what it is now. I don't know my phosphate level Vinny. It sounds like I need to run some tests :)......I will see if I can get a picture.

Oh, and I forgot to respond affirmative to Corailline in terms of my bulbs being pretty new - about 2 months I think. Right after I got my bulbs, I got the nem. I had also done quite of bit in order to get my nitrates down to what they are. Replaced the sand bed, several water changes including one big 50% water change, running full amount of biopellets, got rid of my canister, upgraded my skimmer (that's been quite a while ago), added a couple new pieces of LR to add some biological diversity (I'm sure all wouldn't agree that that was necessary)....hmmm...I think that's about it that I've done.

finally, here's a picture of what it looks like, the first one is from about a month ago.

Ok, the last picture is from when I first got it. It's much fuller although I have to admit not much bigger lol (must have been in my imagination that my first nem was this gigantic, full, bubbly GBTA)

no comments? I guess when I look at the pictures, they look awfully similar - I'll see if I can find a picture from when I first got it.....

It does seem to have shrunken a little but from the pic it seems to have a healthy color
