So you lift the light out of the way and look down...... it should come with brackets that will allow this, and if not then you can buy them.

ya, that did not make sence to me either. i have never heard of ANYONE in my entire reefing "career ;)" say that watts dont matter, in fact watts are one of the biggest factors that determins what you can and cannot keep. not trying to be mean at all Pheonix, just never heard that before.

He was asking what type of lights they are, as in all watts are not created equal. 150W MH, versus 150W PCs, way different!

Yes my friends, watts don't matter or so they are telling us now! what matters is PAR....

The way I understand it is if you have a bulb that is putting out 150 watts and lets say 200 PAR and a bulb thats putting out 400 watts at 100 par you would be better off using the 150 watt basically.....

Me myself I am sticking with what I know works and 216 watts of light is better than 80 watts any old day!

My bta has been in my tank now for 2 or 3 months, and still it moves every day or 2, its in a 55gallon 18inch deep, under 4x39watt 14000k marine whites and 2x39watt blue actinics 22000k t5, i run 1 seio and 1 koralia, flow is great my corals thrive, only thing i can think of is my cleaner shrimp jumps on it from time to time, but anyway my lighting and flow is pretty good but still it moves, behind rocks mainly... the bulbs are arcadia the actinics geisman...1/2 months old...

you are correct :) i forgot about PAR...except now i am wondering which is better, PAR or PUR.

and for the record i still think watts matters(at least to me) i would take 150 whatts of pc's over say 25 watts of T5's anyday ;D

get a pendent fixture and hang it from the ceiling. this is what I am doing, I am getting a sunpod. look on ebay they are pretty cheap there.

    I found this
48 inch 4x54W Sunlight Supply Tek Light High Output Fluorescent Lighting Fixture
Seems good for the price, drawback doesn't come with lamps.

Also I don't know how intense the light would be if it is lifted 3-4ft from the top, it might be a waste of light, and money.

Anyway, thank you for all the replys, this is something to keep digesting on.
