i have 3 right now, and they all did the same thing. my haitian does that all the time, but keeps on growin, my rock anemone doesnt do it very often, but is very healthy aswell. and my bta os only the size of a quarter so who knows with him?? i never drip acclimate mine and they do fine, just float em and slowly put them in, they will acclimate themselves with water changes. plus i feed krill and mysis regularly and it seems to help

Today the anemone was back up to full strength and looking great, then I feed all of the fish their daily feeding.

About an hour later I went to our home office. This is where I keep the tank...

    Anemone looked like this:

Today lights came on and the BTA looks great!!! Tight mouth and swelled out to about 7 inches around.

I contacted LiveAquaria and they told me that was normal. They clame to offer a 14 day guarantee, but the rep was really acting like they wouldn't replace it. Though never said it... I just got that impression.

The nitrates being at around 40ppm is dangerous for inverts like anemones. I would get that down as soon as possible.

Btw, after a system crash, corals (especially things like mushrooms, sponges, polyps) that do survive, can keep excreting toxins into the system for some time. New corals can/will do the same thing as well.

How's your skimmer running? And are you running any kind of chemical filtration?

The system Crash with the power outage was in 2003, therefore the 4 polyps that did survive I am sure would be flushed out by now.

Skimmer is slightly active on a daily basis, though only 1/8 to 1/4 inch of stuff in the cup after 4 or 5 days.

When referring to Chemical Filtration what are you suggesting?

I have an opposite problem, I had my Long Tentacle for several months and it has grown very big, the problem I have now is I am always finding it up on the rocks spread out, it has a diameter of 10" and it stings my frogsspawn, toadstool and kenya tree, they are receding in.

I may have to move is but my tomato clown calls it home, I have a 10 gallon I use as a hospital and have put copper med in it before, could I move it to this tank? it is only 10 Gallons?
