Long story short, I effectivly bought the contents of my tank from someone else over 7 months ago. The tank had a Condy, Sand and lastly a really badly cared for Pink Tip anemone that clowns were currently hosting. The Condy and Sand anemones did fine but the stress of the tank move first caused the pink tip to split and then over time it's slowly withered away. The clowns don't seem to take care of it like they used to. When I got it, it was roughly 80% bleached and it's more like 90% now. Yesterday, I noticed my female clown trying to host the Sand Anemone which it (the anemone) didn't seem to like very much. So, it's with a heavy heart that I throw in the towel on pink tip mostly because when it dies, I don't want it to poison the tank. With all that said, my question is how do I get the two halfs out of the tank without a) pissing off my clowns (Maroon and the female is a huge *****) and b) without it poisoning my tank on the way out. Both halves are fairly close to each other, one being much more difficult and gaurded than the other. Any advice on how to remove and dispose? :-/:cry:

If they are attached to something it will be quite diificult to remove them.Be careful not to puncture it as this will certainly make a mess.If they are stuck to glass it is possible to remove them with a razor blade just be very careful not to cut into it.There is no way you are gonna be able to do anything to them without getting attacked especially if said clowns are using it as there host.Either removal of the clowns or partioning off the tank is the only way you can avoid the attack that will surely come.Hope this helps.:)
P.S. If they are attached to rock. Removal of the rock is the only way I know to remove them safely.

+1. Good luck. Take your time too. You may could wait to see how they do. I had a condy die, it started to shrivel and detached itself from the rocks. Then it shriveled up into the size of a quarter before I removed it. I think they will shrivel up and detach before dieing. You may give a little bit longer of a chance. Just a thought.

Great. Can't Wait. I know this B**** is going to attack me. She tried to the other day when I moved a rock. I'm legitimately scared of this fish.

    Thanks for the advice guys.

Best way to move a anemone in a humane way is to change the enviornment so that it will want to move such as point a powerhead directly at it. =)

Got one out. The easier unguarded half. It was a PITA. Ice did not work so well. I ended up removing the rock and scraping it off. I felt horrible. Rest in piece little guy :(. Tomorrow is day two. I will probably remove the rock again. I know that maroon b*tch, she was eyeing me the while time.
