On Jan 1st I got a bta. I put it in a hatchery with a few small pieces of rock for it to attach to. After about 2 days it was attached to one if the rocks so I took it out and put it in an ideal location. The next day it had moved to the underneath part of a rock in a cave. It has been there since. It's looked healthy however I can't get to it or directly feed it where it is. How long is it going to survive where it is? Can anyone help with suggestions on getting or to move to a better place? Thanks!

Don't try and do anything with the anemone. They move to where ever they like. It should be OK as long as it gets food and light. It needs to find the combination of lighting and flow it likes.

If its small or deflated and absolutely have to move it to save its life then use ice or a air line with bubbles to get it to release then move it into the light. But I would not suggest moving it at all they go where they are the most happy. hope that helps

I haven't touched it at all to this point. It hasn't moved from the spot it went to on day 3. It's in a cave so there isn't too much light there. There is flow because it sways. It's starting to look smaller which is what prompted the post..

the nems tentacle should be sticky or sandpapery and you should just be able to shoot some mysis or seafood or oysters at it and it will catch whatever..

dont even touch your anemone until it is in the tank for several months, the anemone knows whats best for itself and that spot probably is what it likes, dont try to move or detach it no matter what. they will move to their liking.

at this point I think the anemone is not going to make it.. I have tried feeding it directly with krill and brine shrimp etc with no success. It still has not moved from the one spot it went to on day 3... tentacles are not flowing as they have been. its in such an awkward spot that I dont think there is much I can do.

If he is still there to save a life I would say move him and let him regain strenght then try feeding him.

I wish I could. It's in the worst possible spot to get at. You should have seen the lengths I had to go to just to try to spot feed it. Very frustrating..

Doesnt sound good for the nem then can you get at his foot at all? If not move some rock and put ice on his foot he will release. If you dont want to or cant save him just keep a close eye on him when he fully closes and is small time to take him out. Had one poison my whole tank lost 3 fish cause of a nem death :(
