    That stuff is bad, if you are just starting out I would pull the rock out and nuke it. Then I would go to where you bought it and black someone eye for selling it to you. :evil:

    If you have a sump then I would put it in there, they are supposed to be great filter feeders and generally they can spread very quickly. I've got a few in my sump and I also have a few peppermint shrimps in the main display just in case they spread to the main tank.

    They can multiply to plague proportions and sting the living hell out of your corals. I've seen them grow large enough to take down a full sized seahorse. That was sad.

    peppermint shrimps eat these aptasia?

    If you have them in your sump for filtration, you need a UV sterilizer on your return to keep them out of your tank.

    Agreed, to be extra safe a UV could be put into place. Peppermints will not eat large aiptasia so I wouldn't recommend them if it is already well established.
