Quick question! My Anemone has decided to move under a rock shelf is this ok? I have proper lighting and I am scared that he will not get it if he is hidden away under the shelf. Some light gets to him but nothing like when he was outside the shelf. Should I be worried or move the shelf. I figure i should just let him do what he wants. There is good flow in the tank and his diet has been fine. I think he just likes it under there. Any thoughts?

    O yes.. I have a 60 gal with 2 x 250watt halides, 1 x 24" blue, and 1 x 10k white

Here is a picture I took awhile ago you can see the shelf behind him in this picture. He is now under it.

500W is pretty intense for 60G. MH have extremely high PAR values, so it is hiding to keep from killing the zooxanthellae in its tissues. It will reach out to the light when it needs to photosynthesize and hide when it's full. Just guessing here, he is under the side with the 10000K bulb?

I am jut a begginer but common knowledge tells me that he will go where he feels best to fit his life style. he won't go to a spot that will kill him.

His whole goal in life is to stay alive.

    thanks

Thanks for your quick responses!! I assumed that it was ok and what i have read seems to suggest the same. But about my Halides.. you think I have too much light for my tank? I do only run the halides for about 4 hours a day and from what i have read it seems to suggest that too much light is not a bad thing.

anemones will plant their foot in various crevaces and crannies so that they can quickly retreat there if they are in danger.
