This just appeared out of nowhere on my lr, it moves where it wants to. When I moved it it balled up in a pink ball. Has a pink foot. The pink / peachy line kinda looks like a tongue Lol. The color may be off because I don't have correct lighting yet, but the general type would be great if anyone knows. Thank you !

it's very cool - it looks like a snowflake! with my old eyes, it looks like a bristleworm on it...

Nope not apitaisa or the other in this pic...Lol. I went to clean my rock up and found it looking dead, moved it and it stuck to my finger and saw the foot on the rock and was pleasantly surprise to my newcomer. Haven't seen any bristle worm either... Haven't seen an anemone with a " tongue " either lol

Out of curiosity where did you get the rock, do you know the origins. I would love another closer image if possible please.

Look at Hell's Fire Anemone/Actinodendron plumosum, and see what you think.

i've been told this guy dumped his own rock back in the mid 80's in the gulf and is now harvesting it-guess he did all his paperwork right, lol.

    That is pretty common.

Sometimes it's easier to ID a creature when you know what is common to the area the rock originated from.

I am pretty confident that it is Hell's Fire Anemone type. Of course you could always test that ID by allowing it to sting you, although I do not recommend that, hence the name of the anemone.
