I was told that there are some anemone clowns will never be able to host in, is this such an anemone? I've just been calling it a Long Tentacle Anemone.

From what I've seen and heard long tentacle anemone's attract a wide variety of clowns, you still can't guarantee anything with clowns.

I have one tank with a maroon clown that's had a seabe anemone for 8 months and it does not care about it. This maroon was tank raised.

I have another tank with a clarkii that dove in the seabe 10 minutes after I put it in the tank and rarely goes far from it. The clarkii was wild caught.

Looks like a bubble-tip to me which is very common as a host, but as mentioned, it all depends on the clown.. I have even heard of them hosting powerheads. If they will host they just will.. if not they may learn it. Nothing is set in stone though.

    Good Luck with it.

No that is a bubble tip anemone. I'm sure. That's what mine looks like but mines rose color. clowns will love it. More depends on the clown. Mature clowns host better, or clowns with a threat in tank will host.

I know the thing to the left is definatly aptisia. But main anemone does look like condy except for around the edge.

Is its foot hidden under a rock?
BTA's will hide, but make it so they can reach the light.
Condys dont care about that, and will spread all over.

My maroon is goofy. She is perfectly happy with living in his anemone and letting the anemone protect him, but she doesn't feed it often and will try to steal the silverside from him when I feed it meaty foods. :furious3: She expects the anemone to take care of her, but she won't take care of the anemone, go figure. :tounge2:

Is it normal for BTA's to not have bubbles at the tips of the tentacles? I have witnessed several examples of this (though I do not have my own BTA). It does not seem linked to health in those cases because one enormous anemone had produced several enormous clones. Generally I consider large growth and prodigous reproduction as signs of good health. Nonetheless, I have really only seen BTA with bubbles in pictures.
