First thing I saw was that your temp is low, should be between 77-81

Second thing, are you dosing Iodine? If you are, you need to be testing for it. High Iodine levels will cause havoc and even a crash.

General and great rule of thumb is to test for everything you dose.

Your basic tests for what you have in there right now are:

NH4, NO2, NO3, pH, Ca, Mg, ALK. You are getting the Iodine test kit and that is good. You need to realize that you should not add what you cannot test for. That is a rule. And very few people dose iodine into their systems. Water changes with a quality salt mix will add what you need.

Luna noticed your temp is off.....and he is right. You are doing well by raising it slowly.

Now, I want to know how many inches of fish you have in your system. The tang and maroon can get big enough that they will eventually have no business in a 55g tank (well...together at least). Tangs, by the book, should probably not go in a tank less then 72 inches long. I break that rule with mine.....but I have one medium size tang in a 90g. Once it grows large it is gone. The clown can be a good center piece fish......clowns do not need much swimming room. They don't stray far from their host anemones and do that their entire lives.

Your system looks good all around. Good lighting, good skimming, you know what you are doing...that is evident. Just need a little fine-tuning and you will be up and running full throttle once again.

Just a side note....you probably don't need to manually feed the anemones that often. Maybe once a week with the silversides.

When did you get the anemones anyway?
