anenome help

my bubble anenome somehow deflated and my clowns wont play with them anymore? are the still alive? i really don't know the first aids and remedies from my sick or dying anenome, please help? thanks

 

It could be just nature taking its course, as your anemone may be regurgitating it food, or could be removing Xooxanthellae, or not happy or worst case scenario...dying!
What are you water parameters? How is everything else doing? Do you test your water frequently? Do you do weekly water changes? and what lighting scenario are you using?

 

If your anemone does not look its normal self after a day or two, for your tanks sake GET IT OUT!!! My first experience was with a LTA and a BTA. My LTA look unhappy and began roaming around the tank. He went behind the rocks and died. When they die they release deadly toxins into the water. It was a toxin warfare in there because when the LTA released its toxins, I guess the BTA did too, long story short, it literally wipped out MY WHOLE TANK, CORALS AND ALL. How disheartening. And, you can't just put stuff back in there. I had to clean sand, rocks, tank, everything, because the toxins just lingered and after sitting for a while I put a couple new things in and they died. I'm satified from the remaining toxins.

My clowns also left there anemones, that should have been my first sign but I was hopeful that I was NOT KILLING SOMETHING ELSE! Hindsight, I would have sure taken the anemone out after the day or two of it not looking normal and the clowns leaving it alone.

I started over and have a huge saddle carpet now. I learned that when they don't feel sticky anymore you might as well take them out because they are dying. Even when they are regurgitating they will still feel sticky. After watching the death of 3 anemones I finally figured out what the beginning of death looks like. I am down to one, against my husband's will, lol, but that's all I am getting this time, and I check him regularly to make sure he is heathly. If the are not eating normally you should keep watch! I put a piece of fish or shrimp in there and my carpet just folds up and devours it so I know he is happy! ;D

i always found that if you bring it to the top if it has a relly bad oder then is most likely dying and you want to get it out of your tank.
