In the future if that happens squeeze the foot to see if it if still firm. They start to get a squishy foot if they are dying. I have seen anemones come back from that but it ussually takes moving it to another tank. P.S. those urchins are cool for a while but they make a rubble pile out of your rock looking for food. I gave mine back to my LFS with pleasure.

A foot of an anemone is the part that attatches to the rock. IMHO if you are not completely educated on anemones you should return it ASAP. They are very delicate creatures. If yours looks like its unhappy, I reccomend taking it back right away. Only a very experienced aquarist will be able to save it. It will wipe out your tank in a matter of hours if it dies. They need near perfect water condidtions. They have to have optimal lighting. I feed mine once a week. Although people say they dont need it if your lighting is perfect. They are demanding. I dont mean to come accross as a nay-sayer, but if you dont know what an anemones foot is, you are more than likely not ready to own one.

That's right, even the most advanced aquarists find keeping anemones healthy extremely frustrating.
