You still should consider my questions. Anemone's are among the hardest things to keep. If you don't have strong lighting, pristine water conditions, and a tank that's at least 8 months old, an anemone shouldn't even be considered. And if its not being kept correctly, the result could be disastrous.

Heed the warnings of Mr. Pack.

Now, the first thing you should do is test all water Parameters immediately. Watch the Anemone carefully and often. This could be an Anemone acting like an Anemone or it could be a sign of bad things to come.

I got my first Sabae Anemone (against the advice of the elder statesmen) when my tank was too young. When it started acting up I watched it very closely because you DO NOT (as I've been told) want that thing dying in you tank. I had to make the decision BEFORE it's death to euthanize him (FLUSH de do da ;D)

I waited a little longer and bought a new one. First I read about 20 posts on Sabaes and a few web site. I am happy to say that by listening to these Geeks - my tank Rocks.

+3. Watch him close and do your testing. If it dies in your tank, you will be a very very sad person. It is not an easy thing to come back from. I introduced mine right when my tank cycled (maybe a little before----eeek) because I didn't know any better. Three months later, I still watch it close every day. I won't trust it for months to come. A cleaner shrimp messing with it is not going to get it to move around like that IMO. My CBS (before the double amputation) messed with the anenome on a daily basis and it did not do that.

Yes, but a cleaner shrimp that is constantly picking at it will prevent it from ever being able to eat pieces of food- so you MUST ensure that the lighting is enough to sustain its zooxanthellae, for sustainable growth. I once had a LTA that had the same issues with a cleaner shrimp. Once that cleaner shrimp learns that the anemone is like a feeding ground for target feeding, you'll never be able to pry the shrimp away from it. They're friends for life (the blood sucking, leaching kind of friend)
