yeah, thats why i didnt know whether to call or not.. The second time i went * which is the one in the video* it did not look half as bad as the first day. so i dont know..

i was really surprised how things are placed.. the place was nasty.. it smelled horrible... animals cages under tons of animal food and equipment that if it happened to fall the animals would of been killed.

i thought about reporting them but then again.. they might just not have the resources to make it look better..

I always encourage you to call authorities if you feel it is warranted.

Having said that, I don't see anything wrong.

Not that I agree with the mass production of animals for "pets" in the slightest. Not that I wouldn't buy one either.

No. My honest opinion is that it would be harassing some hard working American.

But I am saying that without actually knowing a single fact. We can't decide this based on one selective video. It is up to you.

I feel this is totally your decision. If you call, you might feel better. If you don't, it might bother you. Or maybe it won't.

It's up to you! We can't answer for you.

Unortunately, I don't see much wrong, aside from how the birds were being kept. It also looks like all of the animals were provided with food and clean water, so reporting this store is likely not going to result in anything. If you still feel the need to report them, the local ASPCA would be the place to contact.

I agree with Peredhil. Not all owners have the funds to make their store perfect in the eyes of pet owners as far as care, needs, and wants go. I feel Petco treats their guinea pigs and ferrets poorly, but that doesn't mean they won't do fine with what they have. Pet stores are not the final stop for all pets, but a mere middle man between the wholesaler and you the consumer. The best way to help those animals is by spreading the word of what you think about the store and not buying anything from them. Do what you feel you should do. Personally, I would not call until I saw definite cruelty.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Maybe you should communicate with the owner in some fashion ie; written. Personally you have no idea what is going on in their lives and maybe they just need some feedback. One must be very careful when making those kind of accusations, especially in a public forum manner. Unless it is blatant neglect I think proceeding with the owner is more appropriate.JM2C

I agree, all stores have off days/weeks. When the owner of the LFS's mom passed away I had to run the store all day and go to class. I got no cleaning done and the store looked awful. Another thing to remember is that keeping livestock as we feel should be kept, is not always economical. You can't expect stores to spend more than they make making amazing habitats for everything.

It looks like a fairly typical, run-down store to me. Not a place I would buy from unless I was in dire need of dry goods, but not doing anything obviously illegal that I can see.
