Hi everyone. So I will be downsizing my 20gal due to me moving\. I finally decided on a tank and picked it up over the weekend. Originally I wanted to go with the Cadlights 12 but found a bigger tank for the same price at my LFS.

I plan to use existing/extra equipment that I already have, minus a skimmer.
    1x BoostLED Par30
    1x heater
1x Maxijet 900 or 1100: I'm upgrading the Rio 200 it came with so that I don't need to run an extra powerhead. Utilities there are expensive so I'm trying to keep equipment to a minimum.
1x DIY fuge light for the rear compartment: I've already made this and will post a picture soon in case anyone was interested.

I also DIY'ed a media basket with 4 slots for sponge, chemipure elite, phosban, and ceramics. I also made a little shelf for the LR rubble and Chaeto to sit on in the center compartment.

16 gal cube aio. Came with a bunch of ceramic rings.

The tank sits on some legs. Not sure how I feel about this. Wouldn't all the pressure/weight be centralized on those 4 areas? Should I remove the legs?

Rear compartments. I already swapped out the Rio 200 for a Maxijet 1100(295gph). Flow seems good based on a test run(maybe even a little much). I could see the dust from the ceramic media moving in a tornado shape. How much flow should I be getting in this tank? I also have the Maxijet 900 which is 245gph if the 1100 is too intense.

I will post more pictures soon! Thanks for looking ;D

    Update 9/3/12:
Sorry, the pictures are not great. I don't have my DSLR with me.

Refugium light: Chaeto, Caulerpa and some LR rubble in the center chamber.

The spread is not great on this. Hopefully it will be ok.

Media baskets in action: Sponge, Phosban, Chemipure Elite, and Ceramics that had been cycling in my old tank a month before.

Nice little Nano! As far as the legs I would just leave them as they are there for some purpose I would assume. Also the ceramic rings are not needed as long as you have enough rock for the bacteria.Good luck!!8)

Thanks guys! Unfortunately I will have to wait until Sept 1st, my move in day to move forward with the tank. But I'm itching to start putting LS and water in it already. LOL

Also, I need to test out a single par30 bulb on this tank to see if the coverage will be enough for the 16x14 footprint. If not I might want to give RapidLED's 12LED par38 a try. Luckily my buddy and I have been working on a canopy for his 40b and he ordered 3 of the Par38's for it so I'll have a chance to test them out.

Hi everyone. So I finally moved into my new LA apartment over the weekend and got the new tank set up. let me tell you, just moving all the rock and livestock 40 miles west was a greatly underestimated feat. Nothing worked out the way I had envisioned. LOL. But I'm glad everything is set up and the new tank looks awesome.

I was actually in for a big surprise this morning. The biggest problem I had was catching my Yellow Watchman and Pistol shrimp since they were in their tunnel under the rock. I just lifted the rock and was able to catch the goby but sand went airborne and I was sure that I had lost my pistol shrimp. I had been sifting the sand for an hour and the whole tank got cloudy so I just kind of accepted the fact that it may have burrowed deep into the sand bed and that it was gone. This morning I looked at the tank and to my surprise the Watchman goby and pistol came out of a hole in the live rock together! I was surprised that the pistol for some crazy reason made it into the piece of LR when I had lifted it out of the tank! LOL.

I apologize for the quality of the pictures, it was just a point and shoot that I had on hand. My good camera is back at home but I hope you enjoy looking at them. lol.
