Well last night that starfish ate my Hawian Green Shrimp. That sucker was 2 inches long. Im very upset about his. I really liked that shrimp and I also like the star. Well he is now bannished from the tank. As soon as I can get to the LFS he will be going. Thats 32 bucks worth of starfish lesson. Funnt thing is that I have a huge one in my other tank that never bothers anyone....except he did take a whack at that scallop but there is no way he could eat that. Well that star was so bulged from the shrimp that his stomach pushed through his back and now there is a hole there. I guess that this is what they do naturally and I shouldnt be upset but I really liked them. Why cant he be as peacefull as my linkia star. I sent saltwaterfish.com a email telling them to change the classification on the starfish to non reef freindly.

    Bummed :'(

Actually, I believe shellfish is a mainstay of starfish diets.... :-X :-/
They pull on them until they finally open from exhaustion.....plus, they can extrude their stomachs into a small opening in the shell..watch carefully!
