sorry, you guys are the only ones that will answer me! there isn't another forum as nice as you guys! ;D

I am currently looking at a 2004 Audi A4 1.8t sport package. It is red, and is pretty much flawless. It only has 60,000 miles on it, with brand new tires and brakes. The dealer is asking $13,000.

Now here is my other option.

I take my grandfathers 2004 Dodge Ram 1500, quad cab, 4x4, 5.7L hemi. It is silver, but is starting to rust. It has 120,000 miles. That would be free.

If I don't take the truck, i will receive a $5000 down payment from him on the Audi.

Please give me opinions and tell me what I need to know to make the right decision! thanks guys in advance!

My biggest fear is the Audi was drove hard. But a free truck is a free truck, id take the free and save up for something newer with a warranty.

And if it was drove hard, the person driving it did an amazing job hiding it. theres not even a spiral in the paint. With only 60,000 miles, thats only 7500 miles a year.

zack, I may be new to sw but not cars. Audis are known for their suspension problems which get costly. I'd look into other cars such as a Hyundai Genesis, Infiniti G35, etc if you don't want that truck.

zack, i work on these cars everyday and when they are not on a tow truck they are a really nice car to drive, but they do have problems with more than just suspension oil pick up tubes are a real problem, ignition coils, window regs and so on, and they are not a cheap fix. but the cost of fuel with the dodge i think i would go with the audi

Understandably an 8000 dollar Audi is a deal, if it's not gonna fall apart once you leave the lot. BUT, a free truck is a free truck, and believe me when I say you can really deck them out. I love my chevy (not the same truck I know) but I have had so much fun making it my own through adding things to it.

I like trucks. I'll never go back to a car. I'd be OK with a car for a 2nd auto.
    I'd go with the truck.
