I thought I understood this but: I bought 100lbs of Caribsea Arag-Alive Fiji Pink sand. As I understood it I should not 'rinse' the sand. Well, I ended up with the usual cloudy water (no problem). But, when it cleared up 4 days later, I had a film of very very very fine sand over everything (powerheads/overflow/glass/heater/pump). Everytime I touch the stuff it goes back into solution and clouds the water for a day or two. How do I fix this?

I've always thought it was recommended to rinse the sand.

I didn't rinse my aragalive, and my water is perfectly fine. I wouldn't worry about it.

when i put my sand, even though it was the coarse one, it got cloudy. If you check in the bag, there is a small pouchwith a solution that will help dissipate it.

Also, blasting it w/ a turkey baster should help the fine particles deposit on your substrate.

I would not rinse it only if it's live snd. Otherwise, good rinse on RO wter (wht the hell... my letter "a" stopped working.... :( ) like I sid, good rinse with RO won't hurt.
